Michael Kupperman was born in the 20th century. He came to New York City a long time ago and has stayed ever since. He started first as a comic artist in Brooklyn's 90s zines culture, and worked his way up as a comic artist and illustrator for many newspapers and magazines, including the New Yorker, Heavy Metal, Nickelodeon, the New York Times, Playboy, and Fortune. His comic work has been collected in five of his own books, starting with Snake'N'Bacons' Cartoon Cabaret in 2000, later made into a pilot for Adult Swim. His work has also been animated for Comedy Central and Saturday Night Live. Conan O'Brien has called him "proably one of the greatest comedy brains on the planet." His graphic memoir All the Answers was released in 2018 and was a best of the year and many lists. His comics work has won an Eisner, as well as being nominated for the Ignatz, Harvey and Ringo awards. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife Muire and son Ulysses, where he divides his time between working, family life, exercising and watching movies.
