Michael Kupperman is an artist and writer in whose work has appeared in or on The New Yorker, Fortune, The New York Times, Nickelodeon Magazine, Forbes, Playboy, Heavy Metal, McSweeney’s, DC, Marvel, Vice, Saturday Night Live, Adult Swim, Comedy Central, and about 1,000 other places. His books include Snake’N’Bacon’s Cartoon Cabaret (Harper Collins, 2000), Tales Designed to Thrizzle, Volumes 1 & 2 (Fantagraphics), and his first serious book, All the Answers, (Simon & Schuster). Eli Valley is a writer and artist whose work has been featured in The Nation, The New Republic, The Nib, The Daily Beast, Gawker, The Best American Comics, and elsewhere. His art has been labeled “ferociously repugnant” by Commentary and “hilarious” by The Comics Journal. Julia Gfrörer is a writer and cartoonist from New Hampshire. Matt Lubchansky is the Associate Editor of the Nib and a queer cartoonist and illustrator living in Queens. Their work has appeared in New York Magazine, VICE, Eater, Mad Magazine, Gothamist, The Toast, The Hairpin, Brooklyn Magazine, and their long-running webcomic Please Listen to Me. Lauren Weinstein is a cartoonist and artist whose work has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times, Bookforum, Nautilus, and The Guardian, among many other outlets. For the past twenty years, her funny, beautiful, and bizarre comics and graphic novels have addressed universal human issues such as mortality, time, and most recently, motherhood. Last year, Weinstein’s Being an Artist and a Mother ran in The New Yorker, one of a series of visual essays Weinstein has done about matrescence—coming of age as a mother. Weinstein is also the author of three books: Inside Vineyland (Alternative Comics, 2003),, Girl Stories (Henry Holt and Co., 2006), and Goddess of War (Picturebox, 2008).
